Bothered By A Spider, One Man Uses A Homemade ‘Blowtorch’ To Chase Him Off. Now He Is Homeless!

Wow, this one is simply priceless. As they say, no one can do worse to you than you can. And I guess it’s all right when people make mistakes and learn from them, but things look differently when others around them suffer from those mistakes. That, unfortunately, was the case here.
So, KIRO TV reports that, on Tuesday night, a Seattle man used a homemade “blowtorch” to kill a spider in the home he was renting with his mother. Unfortunately, the spider’s fate is unknown, but what is known is that the two tenants are now homeless, having caused $60,000 in damage to the building.
Armed with a can of spray paint and a lighter, the 24-year-old tenant tried to chase the spider from the laundry room, but his homemade “blowtorch” was so successful that the fire quickly spread. By the way, that term was used by Kyle Moore — a Seattle fire department’s spokesman — when he said that the tenant had used “a self-made blowtorch to kill a spider in the laundry room”. He added:
I don’t want to encourage people to do this, but that’s what he did.
The spider tried to get into the wall. He sprayed flames on the wall, lit the wall on fire, and that extended up to the ceiling.
Unbelievable! The unnamed spider chaser used water in a vain attempt to douse the flames, but the fire quickly spread to the attic. To make matters worse, the fire crews’ attempts put out the fire were thwarted by concerns that ammunition may be stored inside.
Neighbor Kaitlin Sharp told KIRO TV that:
There were giant clouds of smoke pouring out of the windows.
The Red Cross has providing temporary accommodation for the homeless family after the house was torched. It is unclear whether charges will be pressed against the man.
